Beauty and the Furry: Euro-Fashion and Dog Trends Come Together on the Red Carpet
JOIN THE 19TH AND CAP CREW FOR OCTOBER’S 2ND SATURDAY AS A DJ SPINS AND MODELS WALK THE RED CARPET ALL IN THE NAME OF SHRINER’S CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL.

Sacramento, CA, September 13, 2007 - Felicia Strati, 4 Paws Pet Boutique, Urban Hound Properties and Apartment 19 come together for round two of “Beauty and the Furry,” a fun and inspiring fashion show that will take place on October 13, ’07 for the monthly 2nd Saturday event held all around downtown Sacramento, bringing the latest in doggy styles and exquisite Euro-fashion trends as well as local independent restaurants offering tasty refreshments all in the name of Shriner’s Hospitals for Children as San Francisco, CA based DJ, SupaCMunky spins fashion inspired dance music.
Last spring, Felicia Strati [Felicia Strati] and Kristi Reynolds-Borchardt [4 Paws Pet Boutique] came up with the clever idea of having a fashion show for 2nd Saturday on the corner of 19th and Cap. They chose to highlight their businesses by pairing models in Strati’s Euro-style fashion apparel and Reynolds-Borchardt’s cute doggy outfits. With not a lot of time to plan for the event, the two gathered up their ‘corner’ of neighbors as well as local restaurants to deliver great food and beverages [wine, anyone?] and Beauty and the Furry was a success. This is a one-of-a-kind event in Sacramento that must be seen.
“[Beauty and the Furry] went fabulous. It was a team effort; we beautified the corner [and] brought everyone together. Everyone had fun.” Says Strati.

This fall, the team is back again with Beauty and the Furry part two. The show will feature several models of two breeds, women and dogs along with SupaCMunky on the ones and twos, benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Shriners is a non-profit organization that began in 1922 offering free medical care to children who have orthopedic conditions. Strati and Reynolds-Borchardt chose to benefit this non-profit organization because they believe in what Shriners stands for and does for its community.
Beauty and the Furry will begin at 6:30 pm on the corner of 19th and Capitol and is expected to have a sidewalk full of people. To partake in the refreshments there will be a $10 donation for Shriners at the booth.
“I expect more community involvement and a better sense of pride for local charities and what they mean for our community,” says Reynolds-Borchardt.
Come support a great cause and local independent businesses all while having a great time.
